Joe got started in photography way back in the early 70’s when the brother of a friend was working on a high school yearbook project. He helped him develop and print pictures in the darkroom and he was hooked. Years later he took classes and built a darkroom of his own at home. After being employed by the local newspaper he shot news events and sports in mostly B&W using 400 speed Tri-X film and push processing. Many a late night darkroom session was needed to meet the paper’s deadline. As times changed and equipment improved he finally went digital when the image from those cameras rivaled film. He still works for that local paper, which was purchased by The Newspaper Network of Central Ohio as a contributing photographer and has had photos printed in many newspapers in many different cities. He now offers those talents to you.
Suzy met Joe in 2002 and his interest in photography rubbed off on her. Being a ferret lover, she always had pictures of her babies all over the house. When she found how well a good digital camera could capture those images, and not waste film on bad shots, she found herself wanting one of her own, and Suzy always gets what she wants. They decided to form a partnership and Digital Photography by Joe & Suzy was started. It then branched out into putting pictures on T-Shirts and making vinyl signs, badges and banners. We also have bought an engraver and can make everything from name badges to engraving plaques and trophies.
